“At midnight, when everyone else is sleeping and the city goes quiet, we will open the gates of the Tower of David and invite you in for a night of musical surprises spanning all of the world’s continents.

As every year, we invite you to join us from midnight to sunrise to stroll through the tower’s magical spaces and into the white light. To wander from Indian devotional singing to ancient Persian melodies served up with an electronic vibe, from the songs of Carlebach with a twist of reggae to the realm of the psychedelic meeting the African savannah, and to create your very own nighttime experience. This year you can also enter a pitch black room where your eyes won’t confuse your brain with visual information and you can recharge your senses with music that will permeate your ears, your feet, and your heart.”

All day Workshop at “The Gottesmann Etching Center”

in the Kibutz Cabri. A great day in the North, i learned

a lot about new (and classical) forms of etching.

The architecture in the Western Galilee landscape is amazing.

And here something about its history:

“In 1996, Rachel and Dov Gottesman, art collectors who are actively involved in the fields of plastic art and music in Israel and abroad, arrived here for the first time, marking the beginning of the tie and the friendship forged by the Gottesmans with the Workshop staff and the community in Cabri. In 2000, following a meeting in New York with the American artist Jim Dine – sculptor, photographer and master printmaking artist, they initiated a master class encounter in the Etching Workshop in Kibbutz Cabri, where, together with Jim Dine, they worked with 12 Israeli artists for a period of 10 days. … (more at www.cabriprints.com).

Thanks all for this great day!

Open Studios at the Kiryat Hamelacha Neighborhood in the South of Tel Aviv.

Masses of Studios to see with national and international working artists, eg. meet Belle Shafir there and was very glad to meet Moran Kliger and see her drawings.

There are some Galleries there like the
Rosenfeld Gallery or the Feinberg Projects Gallery
and artist run spaces like hanina (www.hanina.org).
Two days are far not enough to explore just this
3 streets.

Had a fruitful talk with the teachers of Petach Tikva, planning a workshop together. Some useful exercises and some theoretical ideas about socratic dialectic will be my part. In the afternoon i went to a fight club called “Two Swords” לוחמי האור in Chadera חדרה for a drawing session. It is on the country side , in the woods. They teach kids in close combat and collective responsibility.

12.Sept

Workshop with kids at the Petach Tikva Museum Gave a helping hand at the workshop. They had stations for the kids were they could learn drawing comics, drawing with black light colors and painting on plaster panels. This panels are in connection of the artist Meydad Eliyahu, who takes part in the upcoming double exhibition about painting: “Intricate Affinities: Recollections of Western Tradition in Local Contemporary Art” and “Take Painting”. both will open at 15/09/2016 until 15.12.2016 Great works to see!

9.Sept.

I had a nice Interview at El-Al. They wanted to know all about the Project. Who are the sponsors … who is involved. So i started to show my portfolio and after a while some people were joining us. A good performing start. I showed my “Free flow of art” certificate from the UNESCO and they took care of my “art suitcase”. The head of security gave the feedback: “in x-ray your drawing machine does not look a danger.” Luky me!
